Return to Sessions
(25-31 mph) Strong breeze
Avg. flight time
Blue skies, windy and a bit cold. Wanted to play with a few settings after having witnessed the way the professionals do it at Weston Park, but I didn't stay too long in the end.
Moved the HS from 1980 up to 2100, but hard to tell if there was any real difference in the wind. Gradually reduced it down to 2000 and left it there. Also turned up the piro and cyclic rates.

You did this last year and went backwards for weeks. When are you going to get it, you're an incredibly talented technical pilot. Fly how you want to, work out a freestyle that isn't a series of manoeuvres. Use them but break it up with some of the moves you do but use them as morphs into the others. Well controlled technical 3D, with big air is where it's at, at the moment. Look at what Dunc, Alex and the others do, not high headspeed flippety floppity, it's had it's day and it's gone. It's the year of the techy and that's you, up your piro speed for show boating :-))

It's not that bad, I haven't gone full nuts this time 😀
Although low HS is great for practising gentle technical, I have to keep it relatively high because of the bogging when things go wrong. I've upped the HS by 20 and it feels nice, a little bit snappier. Cyclic has only been increased by a few percent and rudder only 10%. I don't think anyone will notice the difference, but it feels good.
I agree with the Dunc/Alec comment and I've been taking notes at the last few events.
