Market Harborough, Leicestershire, United Kingdom

We are a small, friendly, informal, model flying club situated just outside Market Harborough.

The origin of the Leicester Area Radio Control Society (LARCS) goes back to the 1950s when the late Geoff Franklyn and several modelling enthusiasts formed a group that initially used a number of local WW2 airfields. In 1962, they decided to form an official club and settled in our present location.

Because of proposed land development, in 2002 the club moved just a few hundred yards to a new, much larger field. We now have a mown area of just under 3 acres which makes our site quite special.

Not a very good forecast so decided to stay local. Went to Larcs for an early session before meeting Gary at Gumley. Had a great morning flying with him and the usual fixie group. He managed to smoke a Turnigy pack while putting it into the Logo. Never seen one go up like that before.
Eventually the rain arrived and we called it a day.

A morning of practice on my own at Larcs. Took a lunch break and then went back for more. Eventually had enough so went to Gumley for some company. It's actually starting to get busy there on a Saturday now. Flew until the wind picked up and the clouds came over.

SM was reasonable with good vis and the wind from behind. Still a lot to work on. FS is getting better, but still need to clean up the final bit. Not easy using batteries with 400 cycles that die towards the end, but there aren't any Desire in the country at the moment. FTM is still only halfway there and even that bit needs refining. Will have to finish that ASAP so I can start practising it.

I signed up for the next F3N comp at Staffs Heli Club, so I have 12 days to practice SM, finish the FS and figure out my FTM.
Charged my batts early this morning and got 3 flights in before work. Hopefully with a bit of sim and a couple of nice days, I can get the flights ready in time.

Went to Larcs early to get a few flights in. Windier and cloudier than expected. Marc had a weird problem with his Raptor tail, but I think we managed to fix the other problem on his TRex 250.
Drove through to Heli Extreme to meet Darren (bigpops) and have a few flights at his club. He's a pretty good pilot with the helis and 3D quads. Saw Andy and Andy fly as well. A bunch of other members arrived as I was leaving, but the genny was already packed away and I'd had a decent afternoon in the sun.
Back at home with a cold one watching F1 again.

Started off at Larcs with Malcolm until lunchtime. Then flew at Gumley for a few hours. I managed to blow up the Fusion charger, so now I need to by an iCharger ASAP. I never liked the Fusion anyway, weird programming and the buttons were too fiddly.
