Crashed my baby today! I broke my first promise to myself when I started flying again. I did not fly high enough! Not too bad it seems but still have to do the tear down and repair work! I know at least one person who will be happy to hear i can still crash, Ron!

A few flights off the deck of my beach house. Beautiful day but had to stop flying when the chili cook off started in my neighborhood. Afternoon filled with chili, friends and tequila shots! So in a way I kept right on flying through the afternoon and into the evening! ;-)

Nice evening but its really getting dark way too early these days! Stll chasing tail issues on the N5. Lots of inverted hovering and some inverted backwards flight and a couple of funnels. Plenty of autos.

Only three stars because I couldn't get more flights in!

Strange feel to it today. I was only one at the field most of the day. Wind was blowing steady and rain storms threatening from the west. Did get to watch the utility company use a hughes to place two guys on top of high voltage power line tower that is very near the field. It was pretty cool! I don't feel like I advanced any today. Just did some inverted hovering and a few inverted
fly-bys. Plenty of autos and a couple of my best attempts at a hurricane. I did strip the front tail gears on the 450 today. Luckily it was on my last battery. It would seem it is better to land that bird under power rather than hit hold no matter how high you are. Overall I'll give it three stars.

Tough day all day. I decided to sneak in a few flights before dark. The tough day just carried over to my flying. No crashes or anything like that just a difficult session.

Nice day at the field. Got a lot of flights in on the N5. Mostly just playing around. Did do some figure 8s and some fast circles, inverted flight and hovering. Lots of nose in and tons of autos! I also leaned the motor out quite a bit. Loads of power now!

I only got one flight on the 450L mostly due to the wind. I was tired of fighting the wind and I was just flat tired. So I decided to pack it up while everything was still in one piece!

I had to venture into Houston this morning. Managed to make it back to town by 5pm and headed to the field. Dominator is really flying well but the tail is definitely NOT rock solid! I need to spend some tuning time on it and I also need to do more reading about the G-Pro system.
Now the N5, well - YEAH BABY!!! that is an awesome flying helicopter! I still haven't totally leaned out the motor and will probably do tuning tomorrow. I'm about ready to install the governor and turn up the head speed! Really enjoying just flying helicopters again. I'm giving today's session four stars only because my son isn't here flying with me. Once I can get him back into it, the world will be spinning in greased grooves again!
