Arrived late, got a few flights in before starting the search for Andy's heli and getting scratched up.

The flying went well and I got some new moves down. Duncan came out later to get some practice for 3D champs, which was nice to watch. I also got to ask him about some of the moves. I don't think I'll being doing the Champs this year but it's good information.

Towards the end of the day, I had a complete lockout coming out of a loop and the heli went nose-first into the rough before I had a chance to do anything. I hit TH to stop any further damage and strangely the heli lifted up above the long stuff and then dropped back again. The radio then started giving low Rx voltage warnings, so I assumed I'd had some sort of low voltage reset. The blades were folded back but I couldn't see any signs of damage. The log only showed low voltage warnings after TH which explained why I never got any warnings in flight, but didn't explain the lockout. After still not finding any damage, I found the rear cyclic servo was completely solid. I had the feeling I was able to level the heli with aileron but elevator had no effect for that half-second before it went in, so I'm pretty sure that's the culprit.

So amazingly, after hitting the deck at speed and full RPM, the scrub slowed the heli down enough to not cause any damage beyond a few cracks in the canopy. I'm pretty happy with that.
