Finally managed to kill the drive belt on the protos. Had been showing signs of wear for a few weeks now but the aberdonian in me didn't want to change it till it burst. No panic though as I had the urukay in the van to fly but I had left the battery trays at home. Quick drive home to get them and I was back in the air. Was good to fly a nice gentle Heli for a change. 1 flight with Al's 600, tail. Still a bag of shyte, slowly losing it with this Heli but the challenge continues

Lovely weather today, was a crisp -6 this morning but didn't feel like it due to hardly any wind. Clear blue sky and nice crisp snow on the ground and the temps got up to a scorching -2.
After going over the connections in the protos powerbus and esc the problems from yesterday seem to have gone, no loss of power at all today so although I never noticed anything wrong with the wiring something must have fixed it.
Had one flight of Bills trex as we shifted it onto his new 28x Tx. First time I have held a 28x and it is a heavy transmitter with the twin batteries but I liked how butter smooth the gimbals were. Finished off the day trying to get the tail wag sorted in Al's trex 600, slowly but surely it is getting there.
Off all next week so hope the weather stays good so I can get plenty flying in :)

Nice flying conditions although cold on the feet with some 6" of snow underfoot. First couple of flights went well then I started to have issues with power, during tic tocs it felt like the power was severely lacking and on the 4th flight I only managed 1.5minutes before the Heli would barely maintain a hover. Still had 70% left in the battery. Suspecting the batteries being cold I headed home for lunch and charged up the batteries in the house.
Back at the field the first flight went fine but the next three you could feel and hear the power loss, seems to get worse inverted and also on the downward leg of a pogo so I'm thinking there is a loose wire somewhere.

Another good day at the field. 8 flights on the protos and also a couple of flights on other folks helis to set them up. Al's trex 600 has a severe tail wag which he can't get rid of, next up is to change the unnamed servo out for something decent and see it if helps. Bills trex is flying really well.

All snow has thawed out on the field. With clear sky, little wind and a tropical 8 degrees temperature it made flying conditions ideal. Managed 7 flights before the forecast rain started. Looking good forecast for tomorrow too :)

Great flying conditions although cold on the feet with the snow on the ground. Rolling loops coming on but still get the fear when rolling towards the hard stuff.

Day off work so had hoped to get some flights in but it was brutally cold and windy. Ran 4 batteries before admitting defeat

Yet again cold and windy but clear blue sky. 4 flights on the protos and 1 flight of Bill's Trex 600n which he bought off ebay. Very clean helicopter which has been well specced, well built and setup by its previous owner.
