(32-38 mph) High wind, moderate gale, near gale

700e B
13 flights
Avg. flight time 00:06:00

High wind, hail and snow, still a blizzard out there now. After yesterday's bench trimming, the heli is flying fine. It has a little shudder at high speed that might be related to head gain, but I'll play with it on a day more conducive to testing.

The A machine has been dismantled and made ready for packing. I'll fly and tune the B a bit more this week, and then I'll pack that too.

Nice, was looking into a case like that for the European events. Flying from berserk would certainly shed the transit time compared to driving. Any more details on the golf case?

It's a Longridge travel hard case available from Amazon, ebay, etc. The Trex fit length-wise with about 2 cm to spare. I'm going to stick some foam blocks between the frames and sides. The locks aren't TSA, so I bought some TSA straps with codes to go around the case. The case is about 6 kilos, so I should be within the baggage weight with 2 helis and all my clothes.
It's not the most rigid case, but the others were really expensive.

Mirko uses a slightly more square one in his vlog, but I didn't have time to wait for a used one to come up on ebay.

Thanks, will have a look around and see what’s available.
Where you off to? Somewhere warmer than here I hope?

I was hoping it would be warmer, but looking at the forecast, it's hovering around 10 degrees! I'm off to Las Vegas for the funfly next weekend. I've also signed up to the Align flight academy to get some lessons off Alan Szabo, Ben Storick and Colin Bell. I'm really looking forward to that.
My only worry is getting hold of batteries and charging once I'm there. I've organised a loan of one set with EC5s, but ideally I'd need another. I'm toying with the idea of making up a Supra-X harness so I can potentially borrow packs from others.
Which Euro events are you doing? I might go watch/compete in the German F3N.

Las Vegas will be fantastic flying with even better nightlife :) Some good pilots to learn off them three.
Yes i have the same dilemma with the battery issue, i was offered from the English lads who drive to the comps to borrow a set of theirs to fly with. Likewise i would just need to knock up a Supra S6 harness to get back to EC5 which they all use which is not a big deal.

I would like to take the chance to try getting flight batteries on board the aircraft but you hear so many differing stories of them being allowed or not. I think you would be allowed to take 2x 6S onboard but its a risky one if they dont let you on with them at the airport they would have to get thrown in the bin :(

Signed up for the Dutch F3c & UK F3c as it stands. Wanted to do the Belguim event as they are good lads but i cant get the time off to attend. Italy & Denmark off limits as just too far travel wise. You should compete in the F3n if you are going anyway
